How to run a fair classroom name picker
A classroom name picker works best when students understand the process and trust that it is fair.
Prepare your list
Add every student who is present. Remove absences before you spin so the wheel stays accurate.
Explain the rules
Tell the class you will spin once for volunteers, discussion turns or jobs. Keep the same process each day.
Spin openly
Project the wheel when possible. Visibility builds trust and reduces “you always pick the same people” concerns.
Follow up kindly
Give think-time after a name is selected. Fair selection still needs supportive teaching.
Try the Student Name Picker or Classroom Wheel.
Explore more tools in the wheel directory or return to the homepage spinner.
